Women at Home on the Range in Grand Tetons


Bar H Ranch of Idaho is offering summer horseback trail rides for women in Wyoming's Grand Tetons. Riding trips are scheduled July 24 to 28, July 30 to Aug. 3 and Aug. 5 to 9. For the more adventurous rider, four-day high-country pack trips are also offered throughout August.

Cost: $990 for base camp trips and $1,135 for high-country trips per person, including camping equipment, all meals and guides. Round-trip air fare to Jackson, Wyo., is extra.

Bermuda: Football Cruise

Kim Tours is offering a Bermuda cruise that ends with the USC/Penn State kickoff classic football game at Giants Stadium in New Jersey.

Participants will leave Aug. 18 for New York for an overnight before boarding the Horizon for Bermuda. After a seven-night cruise, travelers will attend the football game before returning Aug. 28 to Los Angeles.

Italy: Tuscan Autumn

Brazil: Dance Classes

Learn the art of Brazilian dance with Viver Brasil Dance and Music Programs, which is hosting a tour of northeast Brazil from Aug. 13 to 28. Salvador is the center for traditional and contemporary Afro-Brazilian dance. The trip offers eight days of classes in Afro-Brazilian dance or percussion and song for the beginner through the professional. The program includes visits to local ceremonies, concerts, festivals, day trips and encounters with many dancers and artists.

Europe: World's Fair

General Tours of New Hampshire is offering "From the Millennium Dome to the World's Fair." The tour begins with four nights in London and stops at the Millennium Dome in Greenwich. From London, guests travel by train to the port at Harwich for an overnight North Sea crossing. Passengers disembark in Hamburg and enjoy a sightseeing tour and a visit to the World's Fair Expo 2000 in Hanover, Germany. Regular departures are May 30 to Oct. 17.

California: Bicycling

Bicycle Adventures is offering a biking tour that explores the Central Coast of California, from Big Sur to Solvang. The six-day "Golden California" trip visits vineyards and secluded oak canyons as well as the coast. Cyclists pedal between 20 and 50 miles a day and enjoy first-class lodging, gourmet meals and full van support.

Guests meet in Santa Barbara and take a shuttle north to Big Sur. Cycling south, they travel through Cambria, Morro Bay, Pismo Beach and the Santa Ynez Valley before finishing near Solvang. Besides cycling, guests will enjoy hiking, sightseeing, wine tasting and relaxing on the beach.

Tours are available on various dates through October.

Pacific: Island Hop

A reunion of World War II veterans who served in the Pacific Islands is planned on a 29-day cruise departing San Francisco on Sept. 24. The cruise is not limited to veterans. The first port of call is Honolulu, where members may visit Pearl Harbor's Battleship Row. Next there is a stop at Lahaina, Maui, then calls at Pacific Islands that offer a mix of tropical scenery and historical significance as sites of important battles during the war. Included are Majuro Atoll, Marshall Islands, Guam, Papua New Guinea, Marianas Islands, Fiji and Australia.
