The City Council on Monday approved a sewer rate hike to help pay for $9 million in sewer system improvements. A monthly charge of $5.83 will be added to residents' utility bills; no starting date has been set. Leisure World and some parts of College Park West will be exempt from the charge because their sewer services are linked to a separate countywide system.
