* Pop--The marital team of Aimee Mann and Michael Penn will take the stage Friday at the Lobero Theatre in Santa Barbara for an installment of the Sings Like Hell concert series. As individual artists, Mann and Penn share a flair for writing pretty melodies and lyrics about bad relationships. Show time: 8 p.m. The theater is at 33 E. * Concerts--The Santa Barbara Bowl will host the following concerts:

Punk rockers 311 will perform Friday, with Incubus opening the gig at 7 p.m. $25-$31.

On Monday, "Reggae at the Bowl 2000" will offer a sizable lineup of acts, including Gregory Isaacs, Israel Vibration, Third World Pato Banton and Inner Circle. The festival will begin at 4 p.m. $25-$32.

* Museum--The Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History, 2559 Puesta del Sol Road, will open "Strands of Life: The Nature of Native American Basketry" on Saturday. The exhibit celebrates the essential role of basketry in native cultures and the diversity in forms, functions, materials and basket-making techniques. Featured will be baskets from the museum's collection, many of which have never been on public display, plus works by contemporary weavers who are keeping these ancient traditions alive. Also on display: a 10,000-year-old fragment recently discovered on San Miguel Island. Through Sept. 4. Hours: Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sunday and holidays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission: $6 general; $5 senior citizens and teenagers; $4 children. 682-4711.

* Brazilian Music--The "Dancing Under the Influence" concert series will continue Saturday with the high-energy music of Lula & Afro-Brazil at Soho Restaurant, 1221 State St., Santa Barbara. Show time: 9:30 p.m. Dinner reservations ensure priority seating. $8. 962-7776.
