City staff has shelved a plan that would have closed City Hall every other Friday after receiving a lukewarm response from residents and the City Council.

Staff had proposed the plan in exchange for keeping City Hall open later on other nights. City Manager Dan Joseph said the intent was to make it easier for residents who work during the week to have access to the services at City Hall.

Eleven cities in the county, including Lake Forest and Irvine, close their offices on alternating Fridays while the others are open every Friday.
