The City Council has increased the number of council members who can force an appeal of planning commission decisions.

Previously, only one council member was needed to trigger an appeal. The council voted 3 to 2 that commission decisions would be reviewed only if at least two council members agreed. Council members Steve Berry and Patsy Marshall voted against the new rule. Council members Jack Mauller, Gerald Sigler and Arthur Brown voted for it.
