The 15th annual dinner to benefit child-care programs for the homeless at St. Joseph Center in Venice is sponsored by Realtors Cecelia Waeschle and Joyce Rey; Waeschle's husband, Clifford, and Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate Co., where Cecelia Waeschle and Rey work.

THURSDAY Home-Buying Seminars The California Department of Real Estate will conduct two seminars to provide consumers with an overview of the home-buying process, the services provided by real estate licensees and the types of financing programs available for borrowers.

Location: State Building auditorium, 320 W. 4th St., Los Angeles

Time: 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., will focus on the home-buying process; 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., will present financing and loan alternatives

Cost: Free to the public and limited only by the seating capacity of the auditorium

SATURDAY Heating for Homeowners A heating and air-conditioning class for homeowners will be conducted by Jim Berry, certified comfort consultant. Maintenance, thermostats, filters, zoning and Freon versus Puron will be discussed.

NOV. 18-19. Historical Home Tours The Ojai Music Festival presents its fourth annual "Ojai Holiday Home Look In." Four decorated, historical and celebrity homes will be on tour. Refreshments served. Proceeds benefit the Ojai Festival Music Education Program.

Time: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
