Seal Beach

November 16, 2000|Alex Murashko, (714) 966-5974

Participants in a Basket Brigade Thanksgiving outreach will meet in Long Beach to get delivery instructions beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday.

Resident Erin Marshall is coordinating the drive to give baskets filled with food and gifts to less fortunate Orange County families. Volunteers can drop off baskets to be delivered, help deliver them to families or donate food to be sorted.

"This is a chance to reach out and make a difference," said Marshall, who is following the program started by motivational speaker Anthony Robbins eight years ago. "These [baskets] are for families that are going through a rough time but normally may not accept charity."

Participants must call Marshall for the meeting location. Information: (562) 431-7149.
