Interested in having a say in local child-care issues? The city is accepting applications for four new volunteers to serve on the Irvine Child Care Committee.

Members of the panel will serve a minimum of two years, and advise the Community Services Commission on matters related to child care in the city.

They will also help identify child-care needs and issues in the city and promote the availability of good, affordable child care in the city.

Qualified applicants must live or work in the city. Committee meetings are held from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. the second Tuesday of each month at the Irvine Civic Center.

For information or an application, call (949) 724-6648. Applications must be received or postmarked by 5 p.m. Monday.
