Crescenta Valley capitalized on Leuzinger's punting problems for its final 10 first-half points. Ryan Radenbaugh blocked Eddie Hernandez's punt, giving the Falcons the ball at the Leuzinger two.

Three plays later, quarterback Hudson Gossard scored on a one-yard run.

Crescenta Valley took over on the Leuzinger 17 on its next possession following a bad center snap on an Olympian punt, leading to Clissold's 33-yard field goal with 41 seconds left in the half.

Gossard completed 15 of 27 passes for 113 yards with one interception. It was the first playoff victory for Alan Eberhart since he became coach in 1993.
