Another year, another eye-opening performance for Tomlinson against Texas El Paso. The WAC's all-time rushing leader ran for 305 yards and three touchdowns in a 47-14 victory, 101 yards and three touchdowns fewer than he rang up last year against the Miners.

Quarterback, Florida State

The 28-year-old senior shook off flu symptoms to complete 23 of 44 passes for 353 yards and three touchdowns in a 30-7 victory over Florida, keeping alive the Seminoles' hopes for a national championship.

The senior completed 20 of 29 passes for 216 yards and a touchdown, and ran 10 times for 85 yards and a touchdown, becoming the first quarterback since Bob Griese in 1966 to lead the Boilermakers to the Rose Bowl.
