The Yorba Linda Civic Light Opera recently raised $16,000 at a fund-raiser to support its upcoming season.
"Funny Girl," "Forever Plaid" and "Carousel" have been chosen for the 2001 season--the first performances planned since the opera halted its productions two years ago because of a lack of funds.
A city grant this year of $40,000 helped cover rental costs for the company, and the money raised from the recent "Puttin' on the Glitz" benefit will help pay for royalty fees, a set and liability insurance for "Funny Girl," which will debut in March.
The opera will soon send out ticket mailers for the 2001 season, producer Virginia De Land said. Information: (714) 779-1931.
