Aviva Family and Children's Services for abused and neglected adolescent girls needs volunteers to lead six-week enrichment activity classes in West Hollywood and the San Fernando Valley. Information: Arlene Joye, (323) 876-0550.

* Spoke N Paws Assistance Dogs in Oceanside needs people to foster dogs, to run booths and to give presentations or demonstrations to service clubs and businesses in Los Angeles and Orange counties. Information: (760) 754-0818.

* Big Sisters of Los Angeles needs women to provide friendship and guidance to girls throughout Los Angeles County. A one-year commitment is required. Orientation and mentoring workshops are provided. Volunteers are especially needed in Los Angeles, the San Gabriel Valley and the South Bay. Information: (323) 933-5749.

* Cabrillo Marine Aquarium in San Pedro needs volunteers to assist aquarists with feeding marine animals and maintaining live exhibits each Monday or Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. A six-month commitment is required. Information: Randi Abrams, (310) 548-7562, Ext. 5029.

* Senior Chai Center at the Westside Jewish Community Center of Jewish Centers of Greater Los Angeles needs volunteers to serve lunch and snacks, accompany members to activities and provide companionship. Entertainers are also needed. Information: (323) 938-2531, Ext. 2228.

* Women Helping Women, a group that assists abused and needy women to become economically self-sufficient, needs volunteers to work in its Clothes Closet. Training is provided. Information: (949) 631-2333.

* Pet Adoption Fund, a dog and cat rescue and adoption group, needs volunteers to assist at its Canoga Park shelter with walking, grooming and playing with the animals and driving them to and from the veterinarian.
