Willmore Urban Agency's Kids' Club, based in Long Beach, needs volunteers to tutor children from kindergarten to fifth grade in its after-school program in reading and writing, lead sports and games, or share a skill or hobby. Information: Susan McKibben, (562) 437-1289.

* Topanga Canyon Docents needs volunteers to lead interpretive walks in the Santa Monica Mountains. Training classes begin Sunday at Topanga State Park. Information: (310) 535-9400.

* Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy needs volunteers Sunday from 9 to 11 a.m. to help remove invasive nonnative plants and weeds at the Chandler Preserve at the Empty Saddle Club.
