JAMS to Take Dispute Mediation to the Net

October 17, 2000

JAMS, one of the largest judicial arbitration and mediation services, said Monday that it has created an online method to resolve disputes among electronic commerce businesses. Terms of the agreement were not released.

JAMS, based in Irvine, said in a press release that it has joined with Poorman-Douglas Corp., an administrator of class action and major civil awards distribution, to form EJams specifically for business-to-business Internet disputes.

Jay Welsh, general counsel of JAMS, and John Bates, one of its panelists, will join with Jayne Menard at Poorman-Douglas to lead the technology team.
