"The Art of Flame" is Scott Williamson's photographic appreciation of a popular genre in hot rodding and customizing. The exhibition, at the Petersen Museum's Bruce Meyer Gallery, presents 19 of the Santa Ana photographer's mural-size prints, all meticulously produced in the studio without retouching or computer manipulation. Pictured: an untitled work showing a chopped and lowered 1949 Mercury "lead sled." Petersen Museum, 6060 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles. (323) 930-2277; http://www.petersen.org.
