Verbum Dei 38, Bell-Jeff 20--Steven Slaughter rushed for 127 yards and two touchdowns for Bell-Jeff (3-4) in a nonleague game at Verbum Dei.

Slaughter scored on a 40-yard run with 29 seconds to play and, after Bell-Jeff recovered a fumble, added a 17-yard touchdown run with 10 seconds left. Richard De Leon's two-point conversion run provided the final margin.

De Angelo Bijole scored three touchdowns for Verbum Dei (4-2-1). He caught a 37-yard touchdown pass from Tim McDonald, scored on a 29-yard run and returned the second-half kickoff 86 yards for a touchdown that increased Verbum Dei's lead to 22-6.

Bijole rushed for 110 yards in 11 carries and Robert Jones added 112 yards in seven carries.

Bell-Jeff drove 80 yards in 10 plays on its first possession, capped by Eric Merida's one-yard touchdown run for a 6-0 lead. Jose Padilla set up the score with a 28-yard catch from Rene Garcia.

Garcia completed seven of 13 passes for 82 yards.
