Sixty-ninth Annual Hollywood Christmas Parade needs more than 200 volunteers age 21 and older to assist celebrities onto flats, work in the grandstands, conduct traffic flow and other duties for the parade to be held Nov. 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. Volunteers will receive gifts and be thrown a party in January 2001. A one-hour orientation will be held Nov. 25, and volunteers will be required to work six to eight hours on parade day. Information: (323) 469-2337.

* Palos Verdes Art Center needs volunteers to staff the reception desk. Tasks include greeting visitors, answering phones, providing information and registering people for classes. Information: Volunteer Center, South Bay-Harbor-Long Beach, (310) 212-5009.

* Sand Castles Grief Support Program for Children and Families, serving the San Fernando Valley and other areas of Los Angeles, needs facilitators to provide support in a group setting for youths age 3-18 who have lost a parent, sibling or other significant other.
