BRIEFLY

October 26, 2000

* UAL Corp.'s United Airlines pilots voted 95% in favor of a new contract with the carrier, giving the pilots a four-year contract with the best pay in the industry, the union said. The approval comes after thousands of flight cancellations and delays from April through August that the carrier said were caused in part by pilots declining to fly overtime and leaving the airline short-staffed.
