In another West Valley League game:

Taft 42, Chatsworth 7--Rick Clausen completed 28 of 41 passes for a career-high 393 yards and five touchdowns at Taft (6-2, 2-1).

Shortly after the game's conclusion, Taft Coach Troy Starr convened with players and his family to announce his resignation effective at the end of the season.

Clausen connected with Steve Smith on scoring strikes of 39 and 80 yards to give Taft a 14-7 halftime lead. Smith finished with nine catches and 195 yards.

Lee Marks returned the second-half kickoff 91 yards for a touchdown and scored on a 19-yard pass from Clausen five minutes later to extend the lead to 28-7 midway through the third quarter.

Clausen passed for touchdowns of 23 and 34 yards to Chris Morgan, who had five catches for 76 yards.

Jason Moss of Chatsworth (1-7, 0-3) completed 12 of 26 passes for 113 yards and ran for a four-yard touchdown.
