Mall Seeks Entrants for Holiday Parade

Santa Claus will serve as grand marshal of a parade to kick off the holiday season at Pacific View shopping center Nov. 18.

Entry forms must be submitted by Wednesday to qualify for participation. There are no fees for entry in the parade.

The second-annual parade, featuring the theme "Holiday Traditions, Ventura Style," is sponsored by Pacific View and the Ventura Elks Lodge.

Categories for entrants include equestrian, color guards, bands, floats, automobiles 50 years and older, classic automobiles less than 50 years old and miscellaneous.

Organizers expect 100 entrants.

The parade will begin at 10 a.m. at Ventura High School, at Main and Catalina streets. It will travel a one-mile route down Main Street, onto Telegraph Road, and enter the Pacific View shopping center at Fashion Way near the Sears Auto Center, and conclude at Pacific View's community plaza, 3301 E. Main St. An awards ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. at the plaza.
