Bell-Jeff 56, St. Genevieve 8--Steven Slaughter rushed for 223 yards and scored on runs of 37, 13, 47 and four yards in 21 carries for the Guards at Burbank High.

Chris Espinoza finished with five receptions for 74 yards, scoring on pass plays of 32 and one yard from Rene Garcia, who completed seven of 12 for 108 yards. Richard De Leon added 67 yards and a touchdown in nine carries.

Bell-Jeff (4-4, 1-0) out-gained St. Genevieve, 449 yards to 87, including 341-82 on the ground.

Javier Cisneros gained 46 yards in 14 carries and scored for St. Genevieve (3-4, 0-1) midway through the fourth quarter.

HIGH DESERT LEAGUE

Bishop Union 15, Vasquez 14--Junior Greg Bertrand kicked a 43-yard field goal with seven seconds remaining to lift the Broncos (2-6, 1-3) at Vasquez.

Luca Spigno completed 16 of 31 passes for 244 yards and a touchdown for the Mustangs (2-5-1, 1-3), including a 71-yard pass to Mark Arrietta.

John Tosto scored for the Mustangs on a four-yard run with seven seconds left in the first quarter.Arrietta's two-point conversion run increased Vasquez's lead to 14-0.

The Mustangs were limited to 23 yards rushing. Tony Uebelhardt caught seven passes for 111 yards for Vasquez.
