Lancaster Downs Lake Elsinore, 3-0

Scott Atchison, Aaron Looper and Brandon Parker combined on an eight-hitter in Lancaster's 3-0 victory over Lake Elsinore on Friday night in front of 5,173 at The Diamond.

Atchison (5-5) struck out eight and walked two in 5 1/3 innings for Lancaster (88-51, 48-21), and Parker earned his 22nd save by striking out all four batters he faced.

Triple A--Third baseman Eric Gillespie (Cal State Northridge) had two hits, including a double, for Toledo (Tigers) in a 7-5 victory at Columbus. Right-hander Brandon Knight (Buena High, Ventura College) struck out seven and gave up four hits and three runs in 7 2/3 innings for Columbus (Yankees) but did not get a decision. . . . Right fielder Jalal Leach (Pepperdine) hit two home runs and a single, and knocked in four runs for Fresno (Giants) in a 14-4 victory at Las Vegas. Reliever Rob Crabtree (Northridge) struck out five and allowed two hits and one run in 3 2/3 innings, improving to 5-6. . . . Pat Ahearne (Pepperdine) did not get a decision despite striking out six and yielding five hits and one run in nine innings for Tacoma (Mariners) in a 4-1 loss to Calgary in 12 innings.

Double A--Right fielder Eric Cole (Antelope Valley High, Antelope Valley College) hit his 21st home run for Round Rock (Astros) in a 4-2 victory at San Antonio.
