Four men and a 16-year-old boy were arrested early Saturday on suspicion of robbing and carjacking an Oxnard man in the 1300 block of Edgewood Way, police said.
The victim had parked his Chevy Suburban on the side of the road and was talking to a few women when six men approached him about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Oxnard Sgt. Ron Whitney said. They attacked the man and hit him over the head with a glass bottle, knocking him over and causing minor injuries, Whitney said.
The men then took the victim's necklace, watch and wallet and drove off in his vehicle, authorities said. Oxnard police are still looking for one man who allegedly fled the scene.
Ventura County sheriff's deputies saw the vehicle traveling on Rose Avenue near Gonzales Road, Whitney said. After a short pursuit, the vehicle crashed in the 100 block of Rose Avenue, causing minor front-end damage, he said.
All of those arrested are from Oxnard and are charged with robbery and carjacking.
Eduardo Arreola, 24, is being held on $110,000 bail in Ventura County Jail; Roy Alonzo, 22, is being held on $100,000 bail; William Garin, 19, is being held on $100,000 bail; and Uriel Alcazar, 19, is being held on $110,000 bail.

The men are to be arraigned on Wednesday.
