PacifiCare Names Shirley V.P. for Investor Relations

Suzanne Shirley joins PacifiCare Health Systems in Santa Ana as vice president of investor relations. Most recently, she was vice president of investor relations and public affairs for ARV Assisted Living Inc. Before that, she was senior vice president, investor and corporate relations for Transitional Hospitals Corp./Community Psychiatric Centers.

* Brian M. Riley has been named president of PriVest Bank in Costa Mesa. He most recently was a senior executive with an Inland Empire bank.

* Business executives Terrence A. Noonan and Matthew Stowe have been named to the board of directors of Irvine-based Barnes Marketing Inc. Noonan has served as president and chief operating officer of Furon Co. Stowe is co-owner and team manager of Norris Racing and executive associate at the marketing firm.

* Craig Relyea has been named vice president, marketing for Irvine computer game-maker Interplay Entertainment Corp. He previously served as executive vice president of the Cimarron Group and was head of worldwide marketing for DreamWorks Interactive.

* Frank Smith has been promoted to executive vice president/chief financial officer of Tustin-based Sunwest Bank. Before joining Sunwest in 1993, he was with United California Savings Bank and Ernst & Young LLP

* Biolase Technology Inc. in San Clemente named Larry Lenon director of marketing and Dr. William S. Vitale director of clinical education. Lenon most recently served as head of Medical Data International's market and technology information division. He also served as marketing director at Interpore International and Steri-Oss Corp. Vitale has been a dentist with his own private practice.

* William A. Keene has been hired as senior project manager for the architecture group in the Irvine corporate offices of Ware & Malcomb Architects Inc. He had been with Holmes & Narver for five years.
