Fashionable autos and high fashion converge this weekend in the Palos Verdes Concours d'Elegance, with Mercedes-Benz the featured marque. The three-day lifestyle program will include fashion shows, home tours, fine art, jazz and--oh, yes--cars: 180 American and European autos in 21 classes, from horseless carriages to vintage and competition racers. The program, at Ocean Trails Golf Course in Rancho Palos Verdes, starts Friday with a golf tournament. The car concours will run Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Information: (800) 923-2615; http://www.pvconcours.com. At right: 1935 Pierce-Arrow Silver Arrow.

EVENTS

On the eve of the Sydney Games, the Pasadena Historical Museum's inaugural Motorcar Decathlon will attempt to bring a bit of Olympic spirit to the Rose City. The competitive rally will take participants to half a dozen historic, Olympic-related sites around town, Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The event will be open to the first 100 entrants, at $100 per car, who apply by Saturday. All proceeds from the rally--and a gala and auction in conjunction with the new Olympic-themed exhibition "Let the Games Begin"--will benefit the museum. Information: (626) 577-1660.
