Ventura County Community Foundation will offer two programs this fall for leaders of nonprofit organizations.

Navigating nonprofit mergers and collaborations will be the focus of a 9 a.m. to noon workshop Sept. 21. A consultant from the Washington-based National Center for Nonprofit Boards will discuss what motivates nonprofits to consider mergers, common roadblocks and how to avoid problems. The cost is $35.

The foundation will begin an eight-session course Oct. 11 on managing a community-based nonprofit organization. Sessions will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on the second Wednesday of each month.

Faculty from Cal Lutheran University's business school will conduct the sessions, delivering lectures and presenting videos featuring experts on managing nonprofit organizations. The cost for this series is $350. To receive credit for continuing education through the University of Wisconsin is an additional $100.

Both programs will be held at the foundation's Resource Center for Nonprofit Management, 1317 Del Norte Road, Suite 150. For more information call 988-0196.
