Good news, bad news dept: Cleveland has new stadium lights and is set to play its first game under them Friday night against cross-town rival Reseda.

However, workers installing the standards over the summer inadvertently cut sprinkler wires, meaning the lights will illuminate dead grass and a dusty field.

"Everybody around here is working very hard getting everything ready," Coach Bill Paden said. "There were big piles of dirt near the field and we're getting that smoothed out.

"It's been a big project and it's a big positive for the school. It's just the last-minute aspect that has people nervous."

The lights were tested for the first time Wednesday.

Paden said if there are problems before Friday, the game will be played at 3 p.m.
