ROCK CLIMGING

Sept. 28

* REI's Santa Ana store offers a free clinic on the basics of climbing big walls by Erik Kramer, who has been climbing throughout Yosemite and the Winds in Wyoming this summer. Having climbed the nose of El Capitan, Half Dome and The Prow, Kramer will share firsthand accounts and give a multimedia presentation of what it's like to hang thousands of feet up. VOLLEYBALL

Sept. 28

* Laguna Beach Volleyball Club is offering a coed league for four-person teams. First meeting is from 6:30-9 p.m. Teams will be formed after two weeks of open play.
