Concerns Over Medical Cards Call Off Game

September 16, 2000|VINCENT D'ANGELO

CANOGA PARK — The football game between Monroe High and host Canoga Park was called at halftime Friday night because Monroe administrators could not locate the team's medical emergency cards.

The cards contain insurance and medical information for each player.

"We did not want to jeopardize any player's safety," said Monroe Principal Greg Vallone. "We have to think of the kids safety first."

Canoga Park was leading, 14-12, when the game was called. School officials said the game probably would not be replayed.
