Mission Viejo led, 21-14, then scored 27 unanswered points in the second and third quarters.

On West Covina's next possession, Matt Limon fumbled as the Bulldogs were attempting to run out the clock.

The Diablos recovered the ball at the West Covina 25. Hart hit Ryan Powdrell for 19 yards on the first play from scrimmage. Three plays later, on fourth-and-goal from the 1-yard line, Robbie Dubois banged into the end zone, giving the Diablos a 34-14 halftime lead.
