Museum Service Council of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art needs weekend volunteers to interact with the public in the Boone Children's Gallery and at its information desks. Interviews will be held in November and December. Information: (323) 857-6101.

* Los Angeles Commission on Assaults Against Women needs volunteers for its 24-hour hotline for survivors of domestic violence, domestic assault, childhood sexual abuse and stalking. Training begins Wednesday. Information: Minerva Montes, (213) 955-9090, Ext. 128.

* Cedars-Sinai's Lifeline Program, a 24-hour emergency response system, needs volunteers to install lifeline systems in the homes of new subscribers. No technical talent is needed. Information: (310) 423-5468.

* Brandeis University Women's Group needs volunteers to help adults learn English on Thursday mornings in the west San Fernando Valley. No experience is necessary. Information: Mary Ann Sacherman, (818) 704-5578.
