MetroLink Expands Trip Package to Rose Parade

September 20, 2000

LOS ANGELES — Although it's more than three months away, MetroLink is already selling tickets for its special Rose Parade express train, which will provide a round-trip ride and seats to the Pasadena event on New Year's Day.

The service, previously available along the Antelope Valley and San Bernardino lines, has been expanded to the Orange County line. Passengers, who must purchase tickets in advance, will catch the Antelope Valley or Orange County lines and ride to MetroLink's Glendale station. The San Bernardino Line train will terminate in El Monte.

From each termination point, passengers will catch a shuttle bus to the parade route.

Tickets--at $89.50 each--will include round trips and reserved grandstand seats for the parade at Pasadena City College on Colorado Boulevard. The price also includes refreshments on the afternoon return train.

"In the past [tickets] have gone pretty fast," said MetroLink spokeswoman Claudia Keith, adding this is the fifth year MetroLink has offered the service. "We generally do sell out."

Tickets must be purchased by Nov. 1. To order, send a check, money order or cashier's check to MetroLink, 700 S. Flower St., 26th Floor, Los Angeles 90017, Attn: Metrolink Rose Parade Express.

To place Visa and Mastercard orders, call (800) 371-LINK.
