An elderly motorist died Saturday afternoon after her car collided with another vehicle in a Garden Grove intersection, authorities said.
The accident occurred at about 3 p.m. at Belgrave Avenue and Springdale Street when Helen Altergott, 87, of Garden Grove, turned left onto Springdale Street in front of oncoming traffic.
Altergott was pronounced dead as a result of her injuries at Los Alamitos Medical Center, said Sgt. Paul McInerny of the Garden Grove Police Department.
A passenger in Altergott's car and the driver of the other vehicle were not injured in the crash, McInerny said.
