In other Marmonte openers:

Newbury Park 26, Moorpark 7--Marcus Crawford rushed for two touchdowns and Ryan Lombardo passed for 159 yards and a touchdown for the visiting Panthers.

Crawford scored on runs of six and seven yards to give Newbury Park (2-2) a 12-0 lead early in the second quarter. He finished with 101 yards in 20 carries.

Lombardo completed 11 of 15 passes, including a 38-yard touchdown pass to L. Ray Hawkins in the third quarter. Hawkins had three receptions for 80 yards.

Moorpark (1-3) scored on a one-yard run by Victor Morales with 25 seconds left in the first half.

Royal 41, Agoura 25--The Highlanders (3-1, 1-0) scored 27 points in a six-minute span of the third quarter to cruise past the visiting Chargers (2-2)

Junior Greg Morris rushed for 169 yards in 11 carries and scored four touchdowns on runs of 10, 92, 50 and three yards. Morris, also a defensive back, intercepted a pass and returned it 63 yards.

Quarterback James Cox rushed for two touchdowns. Cox also had two interceptions and returned one 33 yards to set up a Morris touchdown run.

Agoura opened the scoring on Matt Smooke's 41-yard field goal. Smooke later added a 22-yard field goal to bring the Chargers within 7-6 in the second quarter.

Brad Altman rushed for 96 yards in 16 carries for Agoura and had a three-yard scoring run. Charger quarterback Chris Denove completed 13 of 42 passes, including two fourth-quarter touchdown passes to Nick Capretta and Jordan Grossbart. He was intercepted four times.
