Burns On Fire for JetHawks

Kevan Burns hit his second home run of the season, and Brian Gordon and Ryan Jones hit their first homers for the JetHawks, who defeated San Jose, 13-5, on Sunday at The Hangar in Lancaster.

Burns finished five-for-five, drove in two runs and scored twice for Lancaster (3-1), which led 7-0 after three innings and finished with 15 hits. Gordon had two runs batted in and Jones had a double. Cedrick Harris had two hits and three RBIs, and Carlos Urquiola had two hits and two RBIs.

Brandon Webb (1-1) pitched five scoreless innings to lower his earned-run average to 3.00.

Triple A--Tim Laker (Simi Valley, Oxnard College) hit two home runs and drove in five for Buffalo (Indians) in an 11-3 victory over Pawtucket.

Double A--Andy Dominique (Alemany) had four hits, including two home runs, and five RBIs for Reading (Phillies) in a 14-3 victory over Akron. . . . Junior Brignac (Cleveland) hit a two-run homer for Greenville (Braves) in a 2-1 victory at Chattanooga. . . . Darrell Dent (Montclair Prep) tripled twice and singled and Pete Paciorek (Glendale College) had two hits for Jacksonville (Dodgers) in a 5-1 victory over Mobile. . . . Brian Luderer (Crespi) had three hits and three RBIs for Midland (Athletics) in a 12-4 victory at Round Rock. . . . Former JetHawks Greg Connors and Bo Robinson homered for San Antonio (Mariners) in an 8-0 victory over El Paso.

Class A--John Ennis (Monroe) struck out nine and allowed four hits and one run in seven innings for Myrtle Beach (Braves) in a 2-1 victory over Winston-Salem. . . . Bret Saberhagen (Cleveland) allowed three runs and five hits in four innings for Sarasota (Red Sox) in an 8-7 loss to Dunedin. . . . Brian Fatur (Calabasas, Moorpark College) hit a three-run home run for Peoria (Cardinals) in a 5-0 victory at Beloit. . . . Jason Botts (Glendale College) had a two-run homer for Savannah (Rangers) in a 4-1 victory at Columbus.
