In one of its higher-profile jazz bookings since opening in Hollywood, the Knitting Factory is presenting a two-night stand by the Elvin Jones Jazz Machine, led by the legendary high-voltage drummer.

"Fosse," the Tony Award-winning musical tribute to legendary dancer, choreographer and director Bob Fosse, returns in its latest national touring production. Directed by Richard Maltby Jr. and Ann Reinking, it was created by Reinking and the late Gwen Verdon.

"Fresh Tracks (01)," the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center's annual performance art/spoken word series, presents a rotating bill featuring Mao's Kids' performance piece, "Hell"; Alison De La Cruz in excerpts from her solo show, "Tales from the Hip"; Erin O'Brien's new comedic piece; Jose "Flipchild" Saenz's new poems; composer Byron Au Yong's new work; and Melinda Corazon Foley's spoken-word pieces. Spoken word trio zero 3 and a screening of "Angry Little Asian Girl" are presented with each evening's program.
