Nix Leads Victory Over JetHawks

Wayne Nix (2-1) pitched six innings, giving up one run on six hits, to help Visalia defeat the JetHawks, 16-7, Sunday afternoon before 2,834 at The Hangar. The right-hander from Monroe High lowered his earned-run average to 1.35. He struck out four and walked one.

Daniel Castillo (1-1) took the loss for Lancaster, pitching four innings and giving up four runs on six hits. Ryan Jones hit his fourth home run of the season, a two-run shot in the seventh to bring the JetHawks within 7-3. Jones finished with three hits and three runs batted in.

The Oaks answered with five runs in the eighth and four in the ninth.
