The largest union representing Hollywood's blue-collar workers endorsed federal legislation introduced this week that would provide tax credits to help keep film and TV production from fleeing to other countries to save money.

The statement from International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees President Thomas Short comes after a bipartisan group of senators introduced the bill with support from such groups as the Directors Guild of America, the Screen Actors Guild and the local Entertainment Industry Development Corp. permit agency.
