Ex-Presidential Aide Charged With Bribery

A former top aide to South Korea's president was arrested on charges of accepting bribes.

Shin Kwang Ock, a former presidential aide who resigned Friday as assistant justice minister, was accused of taking $14,000 from Choi Tae Gon, an official in the ruling Millennium Democratic Party.

Choi was arrested a week ago on charges of taking bribes from a businessman seeking influence with politicians. Prosecutors alleged that Choi bribed Shin on behalf of the businessman.
