Rappers-actors Fredro Starr (half of Onyx and currently in "Save the Last Dance") and Master P are teaming to star in and produce a straight-to-video film titled "No Heroes," to be shot in L.A. this month. Meanwhile, Starr's solo debut album, "Firestarr," is in stores Tuesday, and there's talk of a new Onyx album. . . .

Tina Turner may be retiring (at least from touring), but ex-husband Ike Turner is making a comeback. He's finishing up "Here and Now," his first album of new music in 20 years, due May 22. He'll debut new material with a show next month at the annual South by Southwest conference in Austin, Texas. A national tour is planned for late spring. . . .

Crash Test Dummies singer Brad Roberts is releasing a new album, "I Don't Care That You Don't Mind," under the band's name on his own Cha-Ching Records label April 3. The new songs were originated through jam sessions with locals in rural eastern Canada, where Roberts spent much of the fall recovering from severe injuries suffered in--yes--a car crash.
