* World Music--Celtic music group Altan performs Saturday at the Performing Arts Center at Cal State Northridge. After the band performed at the Hollywood Bowl last summer, the Times' Don Heckman wrote: "...one of the Celtic world's great treasures, gifted with a front line--fiddlers Mairead Ni Mhaonaigh and Ciaran Tourish and button accordionist Dermot Byrne--that is a sheer powerhouse." * Dance--"SwingDance America," a celebration of swing dancing, plays this weekend at the University of Judaism's Gindi Auditorium in Sepulveda Pass. The show, featuring 10 dancers, offers a mix of solos, duets, small group and full company production numbers. Styles include jitterbug, Lindy, jive, shag, boogie-woogie, bebop, West Coast, East Coast and Western. * Musical Benefit--The Arts Council for Cal State Northridge presents "Mostly Music," a fund-raising concert featuring CSUN music faculty members and students, Sunday at the campus' Music Recital Hall. Betsy Palmer, a stage, screen and television actress, will host the event, will benefit scholarship funds for art, music and theater students. * Collectibles--The Foothill Collectors' Collectibles Show is slated Sunday at the Burbank Airport Hilton. This 18th annual event will feature Hallmark ornaments, Barbie dolls, Beanie Babies, Disney items and others, plus door prizes every hour.
