Cal Lutheran's .970 fielding percentage ranked second among NCAA Division III baseball teams last season. The Kingsmen returned most of their infield, including four players who were shortstops in high school or junior college.

First baseman Ryan Cooney has one error in seven games. Second baseman Mark Torrey has one error in eight games. Shortstop Ryan Yoshiwara, a senior from Moorpark High, has three errors in eight games. Third baseman Jeff Meyers has no errors in seven games.

All were regulars last season except for Cooney, who split time between first base and the outfield.

The Kingsmen (4-4, 3-0 in the SCIAC) have a .954 team fielding percentage this season, helping them remain competitive despite a team ERA of 5.00.
