February 28, 2001|LAUREN PETERSON

Chatsworth 5, San Pedro 3--Jenna Fodor had two goals and three assists, and Leila Pate added two goals for the Chancellors in a Championship semifinal at Chatsworth.

Chatsworth (14-5-1), which has won five consecutive City titles and 10 since the section playoffs began in 1989, will play in the final for the seventh season in a row and 12th time in 13 seasons.

The only time the Chancellors did not make the final was in 1993-94, when they lost to San Pedro, 2-1, in the semifinals.

Fodor, a junior midfielder who has 30 goals and 30 assists this season, opened the scoring with a goal from 15 yards.

San Pedro got even on Kelly Baird's goal after a corner kick by Devon Nizich in the 34th minute.

Pate answered a minute later, taking a pass from Fodor and kicking a 35-yard blast over Shaw to give Chatsworth a 2-1 halftime lead.

Things went downhill for San Pedro (18-6-0), which lost to Chatsworth in each of the last three City title games.

Fodor converted a penalty kick and assisted on goals by Lindsey Redlin and Pate within the first 15 minutes of the second half.

Redlin has 20 goals and 15 assists this season, and Pate 19 goals and 15 assists.
