* KUSC-FM Radio (91.5), a public classical music station, needs volunteers to answer phones during its membership drive, Feb. 5 through Feb. 17. No experience is necessary. Information: (213) 514-1411.

* Suicide Prevention Center of the Didi Hirsh Community Mental Health Center in Culver City needs volunteers over 21 for its 24-hour crisis line. Training starts Saturday. Information: David Smith, (310) 751-5330.

* Spoke N Paws Assistance Dogs in Oceanside needs people to foster dogs, to run booths and to give presentations or demonstrations to service clubs and businesses in Los Angeles and Orange counties. Information: (760) 754-0818.

* Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic, a national nonprofit group that records textbooks for print and learning disabled students from kindergarten though postgraduate level, needs detail-oriented volunteers knowledgeable in math, science, computers, economics or medicine, and those who can describe visual materials in words.
