Northridge: Annual Stars 'n' Stripes classic car, boat and motorcycle show and fireworks show at Cal State Northridge. No advance registration, no registration fees. Open to all pre-1974 classics, muscle cars, pickups, customs, classic boats and motorcycles. Entrants receive two free tickets to the fireworks show. Free general admission. Food, entertainment. Fireworks show tickets $8. Sponsored by Northridge, Chatsworth and Granada Hills chambers of commerce. At Cal State Northridge, 18111 Nordhoff St. Car show entrants use Zelzah Avenue entrance. Pomona: National Hot Rod Assn. brings nighttime drag races back to Southern California after a 20-year absence. NHRA Winston Series and nostalgia races, qualifying Thursday and Friday evenings, finals Saturday evening. Gates open 7 a.m. Thursday and Friday, 8 a.m. Saturday, racing all day until 8 p.m. Thursday, 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Anaheim: Harvest Crusade car, truck and bike show. Open to pre-1973 cars and light trucks and all Harley-Davidson and Indian motorcycles. At Edison Field, 2000 S. Oceanside: Gathering of the Goats. Celebration of 75th anniversary of Pontiac and 75th birthday of Jim Wangers, who helped father the Pontiac GTO.
