Colonies-Pacific Planning 110-Acre Project in Upland

July 10, 2001

A joint venture called Colonies-Pacific plans to develop a $110-million, 110-acre retail project at the new Foothill Freeway extension and Campus Avenue in Upland, the partners Pacific Development Group and Colonies Crossroads said.

The center will be called Colonies Crossroads and be developed as part of the Colonies at San Antonio, a 434-acre master-planned community to include 1,100 single-family homes, 60 acres of open space and more than 1 million square feet of retail space, said Dan Richards, co-chairman of Colonies Crossroads.

Construction of the retail center is tentatively scheduled for spring 2002, said Tom Swieca of CB Richard Ellis, which is marketing the center on behalf of the developers. No tenants have been signed for the center, but Swieca cited "strong tenant interest" and said the developers expect to sign leases shortly.
