TONIGHT

Palladin Benefit: Many of Southern California's top chefs cook dinner tonight in a benefit for Jean-Louis Palladin, the legendary Washington, D.C., chef who is ill with lung cancer. Among those at the stove are Campanile's Mark Peel, Josie's Josie LeBalch, Spago's Lee Hefter, L'Orangerie's Ludovic Lefebvre, Joe's Joe Miller, Jean Pierre Bosc from Mimosa and Cafe des Artistes, Melisse's Josiah Citrin, Bastide's Alain Giraud, Jiraffe's Raphael Lunetta and La Cachette's Jean-Francois Meteigner. The Regency Club, 10900 Wilshire Blvd., Westwood. 6 p.m. Reservations can be made through La Cachette at (310) 470-4992. $175 for a six-course meal with wines.

Food Festival: Restaurants like Hama Sushi, Delmonico's, Brasserie des Artistes, Mamounia and Confete lay out tastes and perform cooking demos. 6 to11 p.m. Outdoors at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, near the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue.
