Tribune Exec Assumes President, COO Titles
Tribune Co., publisher of the Chicago Tribune and Los Angeles Times, said it promoted Dennis FitzSimons to president and chief operating officer, effective immediately.
FitzSimons assumes the title of president from John Madigan, who remains chairman and chief executive, the Chicago-based company said.
FitzSimons, 51, has overseen Tribune Television, which has become the nation's fourth-largest station group, growing from six television stations in 1992 to 22 stations currently, the company said.
Tribune also said Jack Fuller, president of Tribune Publishing, was elected to the company's board of directors, expanding the board to 13 members.
Tribune shares fell 91 cents to close at $40.89 on the NYSE.
