Kia Motors Corp. takes a big step into the mainstream auto market this month with the introduction of the 2002 Sedona, left.

The front-wheel-drive minivan's standard features include seating for seven; two rows of seats that recline, fold down, flip over and slide out for numerous load-carrying configurations; power sliding doors; power windows and locks; front and rear climate controls; eight cup holders (10 in the upscale model); and two glove boxes, plus a lockable sliding parcel tray under the front passenger seat and a lidded compartment in the center of the dashboard.

All that is hauled by a 3.5-liter, 195-horsepower V-6 engine. The base price is $18,995.
