June 03, 2001

Switzerland, known for its scenic rail routes, adds another on Wednesday: the "Chocolate Train." The daylong round trip runs on Wednesdays through October. It begins in Montreux and includes views of vineyards, with stops in Gruyeres, known for its cheese of the same name, and Broc, where the chocolate factory of Cailler-Nestle is located. You must have a rail pass to take the tour; the fare is $19 above the rail-pass cost. Reservations are required. Contact Rail Europe, tel. (888) 382-7245, http://www.raileurope.com.
